Proposal 2
Migrate Arcturus from Cronos to Polygon
Why this vote exists
On August 30, 2026, Cronos validators halted the chain and executed a rollback following the Tectonic lending protocol exploit, erasing 10,961 blocks of transaction history. Approximately $120.4 million was borrowed through the attack. Validators reversed $111.2 million, but $9.19 million had already left the network and remains permanently unrecovered.
The rollback was decided and executed by a small group of validators with no community vote, no public deliberation, and no warning to users. Cronos demonstrated, in production, that its transaction history is negotiable when enough validators agree.
Arcturus is built on community ownership. You hold a home in the colony. You vote on what happens next. That principle cannot coexist with a chain where finality is optional.
Why Polygon
Polygon PoS runs hundreds of independent validators. No single entity can execute a rollback unilaterally. When a block is final, it stays final.
Polygon has a significantly larger active user base, more NFT marketplaces, and more trading volume than Cronos. More infrastructure means more exposure for Arcturus as we grow.
Polygon hosts Uniswap, Aave, QuickSwap, and others. LRE liquidity can be built across multiple protocols rather than concentrated in a single ecosystem.
Every major Web3 development tool has first-class Polygon support. No friction, no workarounds.
POL gas fees are consistently lower than CRO for users interacting with the marketplace, staking, and governance contracts.
What migration means for you
MACS Holders
Your MACS NFTs are on Cronos. You keep them. New home NFTs on Polygon will be issued under a new collection (name and details announced at launch). You will receive the new collection via airdrop at a 1:1 ratio. No action required -- just hold your MACS in your own wallet at the time of the snapshot.
After the migration, holders will have the option to voluntarily burn their original Cronos MACS. The exact incentive for doing so (whether an exclusive in-game item, LRE reward, or something else) will be decided by the community in a future governance proposal once migration is complete. Burning is always irreversible and completely optional.
Alien Pub NFT Holders
Alien Pub NFTs will be migrated to Polygon via snapshot airdrop at 1:1. Details on what happens to the Cronos originals will be announced before migration begins. A voluntary burn option will be available, with the incentive decided by the community in a future governance proposal.
LRE Token Holders
A 1:1 LRE airdrop on Polygon will be distributed based on a snapshot of all LRE holders. The snapshot block will be announced at least 7 days before it is taken.
- Snapshot block announced (minimum 7 days notice)
- 14-day window to unstake and withdraw from all Cronos positions
- Snapshot taken after the window closes
- 1:1 LRE airdrop distributed on Polygon to all qualifying wallets
- Team deploys initial LRE liquidity on Polygon DEXs and migrates remaining Cronos liquidity gradually
After the snapshot, the Cronos LRE contract will no longer be supported in Beacon or the game. Only the Polygon version will be active going forward.
Stakers
The Cronos staking contract will be given a final reward distribution date, announced well in advance. After that date, claim your final rewards and withdraw your staked NFTs. New staking contracts will be deployed on Polygon for both Alien Pub and the new home NFT collection.
Traders on Beacon Marketplace
Beacon will be updated to the Polygon marketplace contract. All active Cronos listings will be closed before the switchover. New listings open on Polygon from migration day.
If NO wins
The ecosystem stays on Cronos. No migration, no airdrop, no new contracts. Development continues on the current stack. This page is archived as a permanent record of the vote.
